Secure the button foot to your sewing machine. This specialized attachment will hold the button in place as you sew, making the process smooth and straightforward.

Step 2: Prepare Button and Fabric

Place the button in the button foot and position the fabric under the foot, aligning the buttonhole with the button. This setup is crucial for a well-placed button.

Step 3: Set Up Your Machine

Select a zigzag stitch on your machine, adjusting the settings to fit the size of your button and fabric thickness. This step ensures a secure attachment.

Step 4: Test Sew

Before sewing on the actual garment, do a test run on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure the settings are correct. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!

Step 5: Sew the Button

Lower the needle close to the left hole of the button. Use the handwheel to manually lower the needle to avoid hitting the button. Precision is key here.
