Armhole Depth:
Measure from the top of your shoulder to the bottom of your armhole.
Sleeve Length:
Decide on the length of the sleeve from the shoulder to where you want it to end.

How to Draft Butterfly Sleeve
Fold Pattern Paper:
Fold the pattern paper in half and draw a line 60 cm (23.6 inches) long, marking the center.
Measure Armhole Circumference:
Measure the circumference of the armhole front and back on your basic block. For example, if the total circumference is 52 cm:
Armhole Measurement: 52 cm – 4 cm | 1.57 in =48 cm
Divide by 6 , 48 : 6= 8
Draw Semicircle:
Draw a semicircle with the calculated measurement (8 cm) to form the armhole.
Draft Sleeve Length:
From the inner circle, start drawing the desired sleeve length. For example, if you want a sleeve length of 30 cm (11.8 inches):
Adjust Sleeve Underarm Width:
Reduce the part of the sleeve that should be under the armpit to 10 cm (3.9 inches) or 8 cm (3.14 inches).
Add Seam Allowance:
At the very end, add a seam allowance of 1 cm all around the pattern.

and cut two pieces of butterfly sleeve.
Finish Raw Edges:
Finish the raw edge of the sleeves with a zigzag or overlock stitch.

Attach Sleeve to Garment:
With the right sides together, pin the sleeve to the armhole of the dress. Match the top of the sleeve to the shoulder seam and the bottom of the sleeve to the side seam. Sew in place.
