How to Sew an Asymmetric One Shoulder Dress

1. Lay Out the Fabric: Fold your fabric in half and lay out the pattern pieces. Ensure the grainline of the fabric aligns with the grainline on the pattern.
2. Pin and Cut: Pin the pattern pieces to the fabric and carefully cut around them:
   • Front x 1 on fold
   • Back x 1 on fold
   • Sleeve x 1 on fold
   • Pocket x 4 (optional)

Sewing the Pockets

1. With the right sides together, pin the pockets on the sides of the front and back of the dress and sew.

Sewing the Sides

1. With the right sides together, pin the sides and pockets of the dress together and sew.

Sleeve Sewing

1. With the right sides together, fold and pin the sleeve on the side and sew.
2. Now sew the sleeves into the armscye. With right sides together, sew the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches, seams, and markings.
3. Sew along the seam line under the armpits.

Sewing the Neckline

1. Fold the neckline 2 cm (0.787 in) and pin around, then sew, leaving a 3 cm (1.18 in) opening for elastic.
2. Cut the elastic with the length of the circumference under the armpit and around to the shoulder.
   • Elastic Length: 84 cm (33 inches)
   • Elastic Width: 1 cm (0.39 in)
3. Thread the elastic through the gap, sew the two ends together, and sew the opening.

Sewing the Sleeve Hem

1. On the left side, fold, pin, and sew, leaving a gap of 3 cm (1.18 in).
2. Cut the elastic to the length of the biceps circumference.
   • Elastic Length: 28 cm (11 inches)
   • Elastic Width: 1 cm (0.39 in)
3. Thread the elastic through the gap, sew the two ends together, and sew the opening.

As Last Sewing the Dress Hem

1. On the left side, fold, pin, and sew a 4 cm (1.57 in) hem.

Optionally, you can sew yourself a belt to complete the set.
