• Chest measurement: Measure around the fullest part of your chest.

You may now utilize the size chart provided below to compare your measurements and choose the most suitable option. In case your measurement falls between two sizes, you have the flexibility to select the fit that suits your preference, whether it be slightly loose or fitted. Additionally, if necessary, you can make adjustments to the pattern to ensure it aligns with your true size.

How to Make a Front Tie Top

Cutting Pattern Elements:

• Front: Cut 2 pieces
• Back: Cut 1 piece on fold
• Armhole Bias Tape: Cut for both armholes
• Front and Neckline Bias Tape: Cut for the neckline and front opening
• Straps: Cut 2 pieces

Sewing Bust Darts:

• Fold the fabric at the dart lines, matching the notches.
• Pin along the dart line to hold it in place.
• Sew the bust darts with a straight stitch.
• Press the darts from the side towards the center to create a smooth shape.

Shoulder and Side Seams Sewing:

• With right sides together, pin the top at the shoulder and side seams.
• Sew the pinned areas using a straight stitch.

• Press the seams flat for a clean finish.

Sewing the Armhole:

• Measure the armhole circumference and cut the bias tape:

• Length: Armhole circumference + 2 cm (0.79 in)
• Width: 4 cm (1.57 in)

• Pin the bias tape around the armhole with right sides together.
• Attach the bias tape to both armholes in the same way.

• Fold the bias tape twice, pin it in place, and sew around the armholes to secure.

Sewing the Straps:

• Cut 2 straps:
  • Length: 40 cm (15.7 in)
  • Width: 4 cm (1.57 in)
• Fold each strap with right sides together, pin along the edge, and sew.
• Turn the straps right side out.
• Sew both straps following the same process.

Front Opening and Neckline Sewing:

• Cut bias tape for the neckline and front opening:

• For the neckline: Neckline length + 2 cm (0.79 in)
• For the front opening: Front opening length x 2 + 2 cm (0.79 in)

• Pin the bias tape to the front opening with right sides together.

• For the hem, fold the fabric inward 2 cm (0.8 in) and turn it 1 cm (0.39 in) in the opposite direction, then pin the bias tape to the top.

• Fold the front binding 1 cm (0.39 in) outward and pin the neckline binding around the neckline.

• Repeat the same folding technique for the front bias binding.
• Pin the ties 1 cm (0.39 in) from the neckline, ensuring both ties are pinned evenly on both sides.

Sewing the Bias Tape:

• Sew the bias tape around the neckline and front opening.

• Turn the bias binding right side out for a clean finish.

• Fold the bias tape inward 1 cm (0.39 in) along the neckline and hemline, then pin it in place.
• Sew around the neckline and hemline to secure the bias tape and finish the top.
