You will also need a magnetic seam guide or a magnet to help you sew evenly.
Suggested Fabric
You can create a dress using different kinds of fabrics that don’t stretch. This particular dress with a collar will need 3-4 meters of the main fabric.For example, if your dress piece is 120 cm long and 60 cm wide, your sleeve piece is 60 cm long and 40 cm wide, and your collar piece is 10 cm long and 40 cm wide, you can add them up and get 240 cm by 60 cm, or 2.4 meters by 0.6 meters, or 2 5/8 yards by 24 inches.

Sizing Instructions
Tools and materials you need for measuring yourself
- A measuring tape
- A notebook and a pencil
- A mirror
- A friend or a helper (optional, but recommended)
To choose the best size , you need to measure your :
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest.
- Hips: Measure around the widest part of your hips, below your waist.
- Shoulder: Measure across your back from one shoulder tip to the other.
- Neck: Measure around your neck, where your collar would sit.
- From shoulder to wrist: Measure from the shoulder tip to the wrist, with your arm slightly bent.
Feel free to refer to the size chart below to compare your measurements and find the perfect fit. If your measurement falls between two sizes, you can choose the fit that suits your preference, whether it’s slightly loose or fitted. And if needed, you can make adjustments accordingly.

Seam Allowance
For this project, I recommend adding 1 cm | 0.4 in of seam allowance to all the edges of the pattern pieces. This will give you enough room to stitch the seams without compromising the fit.
You can use a ruler or a tape measure to mark the seam allowance on your fabric. Alternatively, you can use a special sewing tool called a seam gauge, which has markings for different seam allowances.
Adding seam allowance is a simple but essential step in sewing. It will ensure that top of your dress turns out the right size and shape.
